The Clemson Tigers traveled down south to take on the #11 Ranked LSU Tigers in a battle to start the new season. Following a two-hour lightning delay #11 LSU put on a dominant show for their faithful’s to open up the 2026 season, throttling Clemson 51-10. This win marked Lane Kiffin’s first as the LSU Tigers new head coach, whose up-tempo offense generated 644 total yards. Clemson looked to spoil this debut early with an interception leading to a 49-yard FG to take a 3-0 lead. Every good story villain must meet their end though, for Clemson this was short-lived. LSU responded with defensive stops, including a pick-six, and an offensive explosion to end the first half at a 31-3 advantage. The demolition didn’t end there. Led by QB Sam Leavitt, LSU maintained an offensive showcase with three more touchdowns in the second half to take a commanding 51-3 lead. Clemson finally broke their touchdown draught with an 11-yard rushing touchdown by RB David Eziomume, ending the game 51-10.
